Can I get a first aid certificate online?
Yes! You can choose between:
- Blended delivery – Complete the theory online at your own pace, then attend a short in-person class for the practical assessment.
- Face-to-face delivery – Do everything in class with a trainer guiding you step by step.
Both options lead to the same nationally recognised certificate, so you can choose whichever works best for your learning style and schedule.
How much does a first aid course cost?
The cost depends on the course type:
- Provide CPR (HLTAID009) – usually the most affordable.
- Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) – course covering the most common emergencies.
- Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) – designed for teachers and childcare workers.
How long is a first aid certificate valid?
- Provide CPR (HLTAID009) – must be refreshed every 12 months.
- Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) – valid for 3 years, with CPR updated yearly.
- Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) – valid for 3 years, with annual CPR renewal.
You’ll get reminders when it’s time to renew, so you stay compliant and confident.
What’s the difference between CPR and First Aid?
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) – Focuses on helping someone who isn’t breathing or whose heart has stopped.
- First Aid – A broader set of skills for injuries and illnesses, like treating burns, bleeding, fractures, or allergic reactions.
All First Aid courses include CPR, so you’re covered for both.
