UETDRMP018 – PERFORM RESCUE FROM A LIVE LOW VOLTAGE PANEL

This course involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from a live low voltage (LV)electrical apparatus in an electrical industry environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables. It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to electricity supply industry (ESI) workers and/or electrical industry workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.
The learners most likely to undertake UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel are either existing workers in the industry or new entrants who may be required to rescue someone from a live LV panel emergency. The existing workers in the industry have previous knowledge and skills, those who may not are given extra support and time as required. The course is flexible in nature to allow for all types of learners with differing knowledge and skill levels.
Certification Issued: On successful completion of the course, learners are issued a statement of attainment in UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel. This is issued on the day of the course to learners found competent (Same Day Certificate)

PRE-REQUISITE UNIT
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
ENTRY REQUIREMENT Students will be required to pass a basic language, literacy, numeracy and digital test before confirmation of enrolment or immediately prior to commencing the training. Students must also be able to do CPR on the floor, including kneeling down and performing chest compressions.
DELIVERY MODE AND DURATION The course can be delivered over a range of course durations, depending on the needs and characteristics of the learner. Majority of learners have previous knowledge and skills, those who may not are given extra support and time as required. This unit of competency is delivered through the following training and assessment pathway. Face to Face delivery only. No online course required. Learner guide is sent out which is to be completed as pre- reading. This course takes two to three hours depending on class size and learners’ previous knowledge.Students are expected to spend 3 hours becoming familiar with the workbook prior to attending face to face class. Students will do all theory and practical assessment on the day of the course.* Note – For all our training courses, trainers allow additional time after the face-to-face session for theory and practical questions, discussions and further demonstration of practical activities if the need arises.
